Having taken the ideas and styles of my three aspirations, I wanted to refine my ideas using the questions from Creating Solo Performance called ‘Artistic and Creative questions’.
Do you have a story to tell?
Yes.
An abstract one with a thoughtful storyline under evaluation.
Is a solo performance the best way to tell the story?
Yes, by making the topic simple and concentrating on it, it will be open to the audience to connect with.
Is it the only way?
Probably not, it can be shown through documentary theatre as a company.
Do you want to display your skills as an actor, mimic, singer, dancer, mime artist, clown or puppeteer?
As an actor with a bit of physical theatre
Does the material lead to the solo or does the desire to make a solo show lead to the material?
The solo show led to the material after a constant search for different topics under the word ‘balance’.
This stuck.
Answering the questions did give me a clearer idea and more of a reason to keep going; the questions put the topic I wanted to express in my piece even more and made sure I would go further with my answers.
